(V 9.6) LPR Service Installation

You can’t use VCA Deep Learning and License Plate Recognition on same server.

This is related to Deep Learning drivers. Deep Learning use Nvidia CUDA Toolkit drivers and these are not compatible with License Plate Recognition Nvidia models.

You can still install License Plate Recognition to same server where VCA Deep Learning is in use if you don’t enable Nvidia models creation and only use processor for License Plate Recognition.

Requirements

  • Administrator rights

  • List Management Service installed

  • License Plate Recognition license on VMS server

Installation

  1. Download latest version from Extranet.

  2. Unzip this example to C:\temp folder.

  3. Start installation double clicking installation file.

  4. Click Install to continue.

  5. Click Next to continue.

  6. Change installation location if needed, if not then click Next to continue.

  7. Change ports and addresses if needed.

    1. If you example install Face Recognition service to other machine than VMS Master, you need change Master address to correct one.

    2. Same apply for Event queue address. Replace this address with that server address where List Management Service is installed.

    3. If you have Nvidia graphics card installed to server, you can keep Use NVIDIA for inference enabled. This create Nvidia models to use graphics card.

  8. Click Next to continue.

    1. If License Plate Recognition Service is installed on some other machine specifying the machine name or IP address using the service (in this case, tajudeenb-dev2 is using License Plate Recognition Service from some other machine).

  9. Click Install to continue and wait.

    1. Installation will take some times until it finished.

    2. Models creation can take up to 30 minutes. This depends how powerful graphics card is in use.

  10. Click Finish to continue.

  11. Click Close to close installation.

  12. Now License Plate Recognition Service is installed to server and ready to use.

    1. License Plate Recognition Service send details to VMS Master server and you can configure service via System Manager.
