Management Server update
Before updating the Management Server, do the following:

Check that your operating system is supported (see System Requirements | Windows OS Compatibility)

Check that you have a V9 license for the server

Check that .NET Framework 4.8 is supported on the operating system

Back up existing system settings (for instructions on how to do this, see Back up settings)
A regular update can be completed with the VMS Update package. If you need to update the SQL Server Express to a newer version, check that the operating system supports it, and use the VMS Complete package for the update.
VMS Server update
When updating the VMS Server, do the following:

Check that your operating system is supported (see System Requirements | Windows OS Compatibility)

Check that you have a V9 license for the server

Check that .NET Framework 4.8 is supported on the operating system

Back up existing system settings (for instructions on how to do this, see Back up settings)
The same applies to updating the SQL if updated at the same time.
An update can be performed directly on the server or using System Manager’s Update VMS Server feature (see Update VMS Servers).
The license must first be uploaded via System Manager to the VMS Server if using the Update VMS Server feature.
